‘Do What You Love’ Interview with DeAnna Lynn Englezos

I have been so excited to add an interview to my blog of one of my role-models and inspirations – DeAnna Lynn Englezos! DeAnna is based in New York but works with women all over the world – including me! She is the lovely lady who is the clear inspiration of my interest in Life Coaching – I loved her work so much that I now have her as my own personal Life Coach. DeAnna does a tremendous job as she keeps me inspired to work towards my vision and goals and is great at what she does. She is beautiful, kind and such a positive force in my life and I’m honoured that I get to feature her on LifestyleTea.

Name: DeAnna Lynn Englezos (@DeeLynn)

Role / Job: Life Coach, Speaker and Workshop Facilitator

Brief background of what you do: I work with amazing women all over the world, one-on-one and in groups, to help them gain clarity, create awareness and identify actions that are in line with their inner vision. I help people make decisions with more ease and confidence, identify unproductive behaviors and take action towards achieving their goals once and for all.

I also have a real passion for healthy eating and living well. You’ll see all of my recipes I post on my blog, I’m a bit a health nut! I’m currently enrolled in the Health Coach Training Program at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. So I am excited to add health coaching, cooking tutorials and more recipes to the mix.

1) What is one of your time management secrets?

Two Words: Ruthlessly prioritize. It’s the only way to get the really important stuff (“me time” included) done. Someone once told me, “you can do it all, you just can’t do it all at once.” I totally get it now!

I am also a sucker for technology. I live for scheduling tools like Google Calendar. I even schedule workouts and sleep! Let’s face it if it’s not in the calendar, it’s just not happening. I love that you can set reminders (and take these things off of your mental to-do list) and invite others (to help stay accountable). My favorite thing to schedule is a mani-pedi, because when that’s in there you know it’s going to be a good day!

2) When you are feeling over whelmed, what is a self care tip you would love to share?

When I am feeling overwhelmed that is my first indicator that I am lacking  self care, or haven’t scheduled enough “me time” lately. When that happens,  I will take my puppy, Harlow, for a walk or jog in the park in Brooklyn. Being in nature and fresh air helps to calm and center myself and just be with my thoughts. Since “like attracts like” when I stay in “the overwhelm” and circumstances, I tend to get more overwhelmed.  When I take myself out of the circumstance, I can get back to center and calm.

Taking a yoga class or preparing a nice healthy meal relaxes me as well. Both are good for the soul!

3) What is your dream day?

A beach, yoga, green juice, Harlow (my puppy), close family and a sunset.

4) What inspires you day-to-day?

Random acts of kindness are hard to come by in a city like New York. So I love to witness strangers being kind to each other. I am also inspired by people who look genuinely happy, are laughing, and radiant. Those people are proof {to the rest of us} that happiness is real and it’s out there. So I make it a part of my personal daily mission to help spread ideas about happiness through my coaching conversations, blog, tweets, and everyday interactions.

5) Any last words for those who want to start their own business / blog / take action on their dreams but do not know how to take that first step?

Know at your core that you already possess everything you need to take that first step. Stop comparing yourself to others and instead focus on opportunities each day to be a little bit better to yourself and others. Create your vision, and bring it to life by aligning your thoughts, words and actions. And, spend more time in nature…somehow there is always a lesson to be learned out there. :)
