‘Do What You Love’ Interview with Sabo Skirt

Thessy and Yiota are both in their 20s and are the dynamic duo based in Australia who are the owners of Sabo Skirt. They are the founders of Sabo Skirt online store and blog which has quickly grown in popularity faster than they have ever imagined. It is an honour  for me to include them in my “Do What You Love” interview series and I feel privileged that they have taken the time to do this interview with me. It’s not hard for Thessy and Yiota to stand out from the fashion blogging crowd with their long dark hair, striking good looks and their fantastic Sabo Skirt clothing that they sell from their online shop. Their authentic style of blogging photos that are not retouched in conjunction with their constant interaction with followers have added to their popularity and makes them and their business so easy to love. Sabo Skirt is an influential and significant business partnership to me as they have shown that hard work and having a passion for what you do can take you to success bigger than your wildest dreams ! Thessy and Yiota deserve every success that has come their way and the success that is yet to come.

Brief background of what you do: We are online store owners and part-time bloggers.

Main projects / tasks that keep you busy? : Everyday tasks keep us busy from 6 in the morning till 11 at night. Some of these things include photo shoots, designing, interaction with customers, warehouse maintenance, styling, blogging, and so much more!

Affiliates + greatest personal & professional achievements: We’ve both graduated from University with a Bachelor of Business, and we now run an internationally recognised online shop. We are in the top 100 Instagram users in the world along with Oprah, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and others, with over 300,000 followers on Instagram alone.

1) What is one of your time management secrets?  The less you sleep, the more you get done. We are going to have to think of a new strategy pretty soon because we are starting to get a little delirious! Apart from long hours, cross-training your staff to cover each others jobs can save a lot of time in crisis.

 
2) When you are feeling over whelmed, what is a self-care tip you would love to share? Twice a week we get a Pilates instructor to come out and take 1 hour out of our busy day to help us unwind and stretch our limbs. Pilates is the perfect way to free your mind and is a great form of exercise.

 

3) What is your dream day? We’d start off our dream day by having a sleep in! After a long brunch with friends, we’d make our way to the beach and spend the rest of the day soaking up the sun. We’d end our perfect evening with a BBQ followed by dessert and a movie.

4) What inspires you day-to-day? Photography, fashion shows, hearing positive feedback from our customers/followers, street culture, nature, just to name a few.

 
5) Any last words for those who want to start their own business / blog / take action on their dreams but do not know how to take that first step? Our advice is to RESEARCH! There is a lot more that goes on in our business than pretty clothes. It took years of research and preparation to get to where we are today.
